From Kenya with Love
Umm, yeah. We've lost some people so we're kinda sorta playing "catch-up" (on the blogging). I've been busy.
Something that I must note before moving on to more recent adventures was the amazing Africa trip. Keeping a promise to Pilli, I met up with her in Kenya and Fang came along also. In one week the itinerary was night bus to Mombasa, chillin' like a villain in the old town and then coast, despite a LONG delay getting back to Nairobi by train, the Masai Mara, lots of wildlife, and hanging in Nairobi with Pilli's awesome family, nyama choma, and of course Tusker. A lot can be squeezed into one week, but the prevailing thought is to come back and do it on the African pace; slower and more in depth.

Beaches, endless rolling plains, wildlife, Africa skies, food and most importantly the people... Africa is fantastic! Needless to say one week is not enough and I'll most certainly be back... hopefully as the dude on the beach with the grey hair wearing shorts, a white t-shirt, aviators and a huge grin :)

heheheh feel like im reading double posts between here and facebook:)
The motherland beckons you to its bossom always...
It's actually only one post but FB imports from here beb.
I bless the rains down in Africa.
Pilli, it's just importing feeds from here to there. :) I wish there was such integrity between all web-services.
Instead of just teasing by pix of the places you've been to, Devrim, why don't you share some helpful information about what-to-do-and-see in those places, travel tips and recommendations. I'm sure that'd be some good source of info for the "younger" travellers :). Cidden diyorum, o tur bilgileri de kisaca paylashsan cok iyi olurdu.
I'm a tease baby!!!!!!
Actually it would be pretentious for someone who was only there for a week to write about a place as though they were an expert. I tend to do this if I attempt something that I feel sharing the details would help other would be travelers; but a simple trip to a different country where someone from there handles all the details and spoils you rotten doesn't qualify one as an authority on a place.
Also when reading travel adventures make sure to put things in perspective... half the "travel experts" have no clue of what they are talking about.
I still stick to my point :). the idea is not about writing another Lonely Planet like guide stories, but some tips/directions/suggestions on the places/things/cuisine/.etc you experienced there. I'm sure one planning some trips to certain places usually refer to known guidebooks and sources, but you can always come through to handy piece of informmation on the blogs. Now this would not be waste of information, I believe.
Anywa, I'm not trying to persuade or smth, just defending my point. :) You are older, you are wiser :p.
heheheh boys, what is this turkic bonding were having here? Aibek dude, you are trying to convince Dev of something? Are kidding?:)
Tell you what, let me know what you have in mind and then I can help you with an assessment...sometimes thats a better approach.
FB and Nomadlife integrated? Wicked! hmm, now need to find the tab that does that:) I'm so techno dumb it hurts.
...hurry love she's waiting there for you...
I'm older and wiser eh? Well one out of two ain't bad. :)
Here's the deal:
- If I've done a trip alone and think that there are useful tips worth sharing I will.
- If I've done a trip visiting friends where I've been waited upon hand and food and haven't had to really put any effort into the trip details, then I don't think there is anything relevant to share with independent travelers as the experience is completely different.
Bilmem anlatabildim mi? Yani haklisin ama dort ayaklisin. Operim seni fena fena kardesim benim. :)
dude just because you happened to come across some pictures of africa doesn't mean you went there... i want hard documentary proof before i believe. and i want mugging-and-knife stories from Nairobi, not tips on where to go and what to see...
